Even proxer and studio cleaner are not in the list In Plugins > Catalog - type CTRL + F in the browser and then type in the Plugin name (or part thereof) you wish to find. Agree the Plugins area should have a Search box but it does not.. If it's not in the Catalog, then you'll have to manually add the DLL provided by the Dev. Dev's may not want their plugins listed in the Catalog as this suggests they are somewhat 'supported' - when in truth, they are likely only supported 'best efforts or use at your own risk' - which as they are 'free' is 100% understandable. 1

goin3d 4 Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 Question, from what I can tell if I have a duplicate entry in my library such as a local tv episode, but then also a strm link the strm link doesn't get checked does it? Is that because metadata already exists for that library item?
TeamB 2438 Posted June 10, 2025 Author Posted June 10, 2025 On 6/9/2025 at 7:12 PM, Flippz said: For some reason its not catching all the strm files. Even in the same series and season it misses half of them. (season pack so theyr probably the same) The plugin just calls the internal core rescan metadata function with the probe external media flag set TRUE. You would have to check the Emby log file so see why Emby can't prob the metadata from the external link in the STRM file.

svyaznoy362 17 Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 Hi. Make it possible to choose which strm media libraries can be excluded.
wq2020wdm 0 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 It seems that it does not work properly on emby 4.9. After I run it, there are still many strm without media information. My emby version is 4.9.1.80.

Repeating the scheduled task doesn't work either.

soderlund91 50 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 (edited) There is also the StrmAssistant plugin, very feature rich! Can warmly recommend. Unfortunately with Emby v4.9.x he has made it a "PRO" edition and require a license.. But with v 4.8 it's an extremely handy tool for much more than just extracting media info! https://github.com/sjtuross/StrmAssistant Edit: Just found a fork of the light version that seems to be working pretty well on the latest beta. (no license) https://github.com/Swiftfrog/StrmAssistant Edited October 20, 2025 by soderlund91

sundevil67 28 Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Is the STRM & M3U file formats & syntax pretty similar among IPTV providers? After finally getting Emby working with the VOD stufff mostly (still not able to reliably update with new episodes but way closer than I've ever been), I'm really close to switching services as it's gone way downhill and shows no signs of getting better. I'm thinking most of the folks in here are using the same but wanted to check as this is the first I've used that I ever tried to plug into Emby.
HjanecksD03 2 Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 I’ve been messing around with .strm files lately too. It’s a great way to keep the library clean, but it’s definitely a pain when you need to bulk edit the URLs or pull specific metadata out of them once they're already set up. If you’re looking to extract data from documents or notes you’ve kept about your stream sources, I actually found a handy little tool recently: https://wordimageextractor.com/. I used it to pull a bunch of reference images and link lists out of some old project docs I had saved—it’s much faster than opening every file manually if you're trying to reorganize your library assets. Are you trying to extract the URLs into a spreadsheet, or just trying to get Emby to read the metadata tags better?
