Specials in seasons gone?

Hi, so I was wondering why I hadn't seen any specials for a particular show for a while. Thought maybe the play specials during seasons was broken and no I can no longer find that option? Was it removed? If so, please add it back, it's a great feature for those who want to watch a whole series chronologically or in release order and watch specials where they fit in with the wider story. Thanks!

It was. 

Though you should see the same if your Specials have proper metadata, they'll be played in sequence within season.

Not sure if they have the proper metadata or not. Am watching One Piece and see that all specials are 'unordered' according to tvdb?

Dr who works though, but not sure if that's because I'm caught up on it

They're Uncategorizied (meaning not labeled as Movie/OVA/Season Recap), not unordered. Number of those episodes still have Special Position, i.e.

You can always check that manually in episodes Edit Metadata dialog, whether your episodes contain same data - or simply Refresh Metadata on Season level so all the specials that have Special Position can download it, if not already.

Looks like a lot of the later specials don't have special positions. Which is fine. I guess that's if it's not super important where they take place or it's unknown.

If there is no special position what order would you expect them to play in?

They won't play automatically, you must specify where/when (which season/before which episode) you want them to play, either by obtaining that information from online providers or inserting it manually. Else they'll just sit in your Specials folder/season waiting for you to intentionally play them.
