playback problem, video with subtitle, on new Intel Core Ultra 155H

I got a new ASUS Zenbook 14, with Intel Core Ultra 155H chipset. i found out that playback video with subtitle has problem, playback stops from time to time, just like heavy duty when transcoding.

When I turn off subtitle, the problem disappears.

I assume it's bacause Emby was not optimized for this new chipset.

Please help to work on this, thanks.

BTW, I had no much problem with other old PCs, and Android devices, plus TV box. Emby server runs on a NAS.

Wild guess would be you're burning-in graphical subs (CPU-expensive process, can be taxing even for high-end CPUs), provide ffmpeg log generated for one of those sessions. With subs off, it's likely DirectPlaying, hence no issues.

Support for Arc GPUs is implemented in beta 4.8+, it likely applies to Arc iGPU as well. Again, as no logs provided, it is unknown which server version you're on.

Hi,

My server version 4.7.14.

As you said, if the 4.8beta is optimized for Intel new chip, I will wait for that.

BTW, when do you think 4.8 will be released?

AFAIK:

Hi, we are working hard on getting the release ready as quickly as we can. Now that we're into the holidays, I would say first or second week of January.

In the meantime, obtain external text-based (like .srt) subs and those items should have no issues playing with those subtitles enabled.
