How to name multi episode files

So I looked at the multiple episode naming convention page and I see how you guys want them named but I have a bit of a weird phenomenon going which is I have episode 1 and episode 6 grouped together and I mean only episode 1 and episode 6 but in emby it shows up as episode 1 all the way up to 6. Is there a way I can name this where it won't do that or will I have to change something manually.

hi, there is currently no way to do this. It's on the list in the event we ever revamp this. Thanks.

The way I handle that is I name the video as episode 1, and then I create an strm file pointed at the same video file, but call it episode 6. It's not elegant at all, but it saves time from having to split the file into 2 which is the other option.

mkvtoolnix makes it very quick and easy to split the file per episode, if you're open to the solution MBSki alluded to.

You will need to split the episodes up and name them like SxxExx
