Emby App Crashes

My nephew has an Android TV - Hisense and when he tries to run the emby app, it just crashes.

We have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with no change.,

Looks like emby app is 3.3.46

I'm not very familiar with android tv's - is there anything else we can do to troubleshoot this?

Hi there

when you go to manually enter your user name in the app and log in

His user name does work - we can test his connection via his phone and all is good.

We put the username and password in and the app closes/crashes when we submit/enter it.

It can't be android 4 because our apps won't even allow installing on that.

I was at my nephew's house tonight.

I tried to download the emby andorid app from the link above, but it said it was not compatible with the TV.

I uninstalled and reinstalled app to ensure it was the newest version. I deleted the server and re-input all the correct information.

I tried to log in as admin, but it did the same thing when trying to log in under his id

The Emby app freezes for about 20-30 second and then it just shuts down.

For what it's worth - I did submit the log to the developers today. It would have been sometime this afternoon between like 1 and 3 or 4 pm.

Sorry, my heath is not the best and I've been unavailable and then my server crashed.

Everything is back in working order now - me and the server. His app still does not work..

Yes - the server is at my house, the tv is at my nephews house. 

since I got back - I tested with my brother - the sever at my house and a tv & an x-box at his house - everything works on both of those.

I'm just saying - the problem seems specific to his TV and the emby app.

Server access works from every other app I have tested with so far - his devices, my brothers devices. etc.

@Thanatos0042 What version number was it that you sideloaded?

@LukeI couldn't tell you, I got it from the link that was provided - however, it would never work - it wasn't compatible with the TV and wouldn't install on it

OK we are working on getting it into the store for TV devices. In the meantime, with the current TV app, are you still seeing crashes?
