The same in 4K. I don't know what the reason is, but here is the corresponding xml file:
______________________________________________________________________________
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<window id="1114">
    <defaultcontrol always="true">70</defaultcontrol>
    <onload condition="String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkipFocusReset))">SetFocus(51,0)</onload>
    <onunload condition="String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkipFocusReset))">SetFocus(51,0)</onunload>
    <backgroundcolor>background</backgroundcolor>
    <menucontrol>6666</menucontrol>
    <include content="PropertyIncludes">
        <param name="ShowHeader" value="true"/>
    </include>
    <controls>

        <include>Background</include>
        <!-- Genres -->
        <control type="group" id="70">

            <param name="auto_hide">false</param>
            <param name="hide_header">$EXP[HideHeaderBasedOnContainer]</param>
        </include>
        <!-- side panel -->
        <include content="SidePanel">

        <!-- busy spinner -->
        <include content="CustomBusySpinner">

            <param name="visible" value="Container(51).IsUpdating"/>
        </include>
    </controls>
</window>

Perhaps someone here can find the error.

Cause the height is wrong in "Embuary_Genre_View.xml"

<height>1133</height>

Could well be possible - just try it. I can't check that because I've cleared out my genres and have far fewer.

Is everything supposed to be super small with this version of the skin?

I just installed the 4k version on my nvidia shield running on my 77" 4k OLED TV, and everything is really small. I'm sitting aobut 8 - 10 ft away (normal viewing distance), and the posters are quite small, and the text is barely legible.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have enlarged the font a bit. If you want to do it yourself - font.xml all lines enlarge the numbers accordingly, so 3 numbers larger. From  <size>33</size> then <size>36</size>. The XML folder is located in the addon folder skin.embuary.......

I would like one with a larger font, so tried this version, but, I think there is some kind of keypress logging enabled in this version? It writes what you are doing in the top left corner and I can't figure out how to turn it off.

Also what does the 2K version do? I was hoping it would have bigger fonts and images, but it looks exactly as small as 4K.

@Teddyknuddel

Hint..

I think you can define different xml folders for different resolutions. Needs a bit research...

https://github.com/b-jesch/skin.estuary.modv2/blob/Nexus/addon.xml

Maybe something like that:

	<extension point="xbmc.gui.skin" debugging="false">
		<res width="1920" height="1440" aspect="4:3" default="false" folder="xml-1920-1440" />
		<res width="1920" height="1280" aspect="3:2" default="false" folder="xml-1920-1280" />
		<res width="1920" height="1200" aspect="16:10" default="false" folder="xml-bla" />
		<res width="2040" height="1080" aspect="17:9" default="false" folder="xml-bla" />
		<res width="1920" height="1080" aspect="16:9" default="true" folder="xml-bla" />
		<res width="2338" height="1080" aspect="19.5:9" default="false" folder="xml-bla" />
 		<res width="2160" height="1080" aspect="18:9" default="false" folder="xml-bla" />
		<res width="2560" height="1080" aspect="21:9" default="false" folder="xml-bla" />
	</extension>

In this case, you could add the "regular" xmls in the 1920's folder and your 4k mods in another folder and have both res covered.

I think the "default=true" is the fallback if Kodi uses a res not defined in the addon.xml

<res width="1920" height="1080" aspect="16:9" default="true" folder="xml-1080" />
<res width="3840" height="2160" aspect="16:9" default="false" folder="xml-2160" />

Should be enough to define the default (which would be the 1080) and another one for the 4K

yes you have to change the GUI version 15 to 17 then you can install on kodi 21.

and I habe the exact same question :) this it brutal small

@Teddyknuddelthank you so much for your work!! very cool skin!! only some questions!

can I somehow change the poster size? this is way to small for me even 2.5m from a 65 oled...

and, the overlay (dv, hdr10, dolby...) I've waited years and now they are gone here. is there a possibility to include them?

thanks!!

I have already increased the font sizes to the pain threshold. Even larger, then only individual letters are displayed.

I already wrote at the beginning that I have little to no knowledge of programming for Kodi. I can only fall back on HTML knowledge that is over 20 years old. If you change the poster size, the whole layout no longer fits.

Integrating the overlays exceeds my knowledge many times over. Actually, the hope when revising the skin was that others would get involved. But that's not really the case. And in the summertime I have a lot of other work to do.

Hi there, I wanted to try this skin on Kodi 20.5, but I'm getting an error, can't install due to invalid structure.

Simply "install from zip". I have no problems with it, and apparently others don't either.

I made a typo in my post, I'm on version 21.

I can't install the zip because of the version number in addon.xml.

I realized the invalid structure error happens after I edit addon.xml to change the version number. Re-compressing the files is probably introducing the issue but I'm not sure what other compression apps to try; I tried BetterZip and Mac's built-in compression.

Would you consider releasing a version with the addon.xml updated? I also read that line might not be necessary even.

Danke - ist halt die einzige Möglichkeit, wie man Frontview+ noch sauber nutzen kann.

Well, thanks to Teddy for making embuary usable on omega.

Thanks to Kodi for nothing. What the hell is the effort of destroying my Kodi - surface by an update (unfortunately I had auto updates activated in google play store for the shield).

I habe two choices: Spending hours of configuration time to get embuary as it was or use the crappy emby App for Android.

I'm not happy with Omega either. Funnily enough, the beta ran better than the official release. Which then caused permanent playback problems for me. Don't they test anything anymore?

The best thing to do is what I did. Use a modified Nexus version of Kodi. Maven's version. Then you also have Dolby Vision included. You can download it here.

https://repo.kodinerds.net/index.php?action=list&scope=all&version=nexus/

And deactivate the updates after installing all add-ons and plug-ins. Then you will have peace of mind.
