Home recordings

Hello,

I see you can have "Home videos & photos", but where do I home recordings? They will not show up in "Home videos & photos". I have no need of any metadata, what so ever, they are all tagged correctly and arranged in folders that fit the description of my field recordings. I have just over 1 million recordings gathered over the last 55 years, ranging from just 20 seconds to 9 1/2 hours. Mp3tag has given me good service in the last 22 years, so I'm not wanting anything changed. It took a lot of hunting in these forums for me to establish that emby will not reorder my files and will not tag them (if that's incorrect please correct me). It may well show my files in different folders in what it thinks they should be, but at least they will still be where they show in explorer!  I just don't need my life to be organized for me, had enough of that in the airforce thank you.

I just put mine in an audio library with folder view as the default.  I can browse my file structure, and the metadata still gets displayed.  E.g., my recordings of a choir:

The option I see for the folder structure are:

1. Other or unstructured.

2.  Perfectly organised into artist\album folders, with track directly in the album folders.

3. Perfectly organised into album folders, with track directly in the album folders.

So I'll try No. 1 and see how it goes.

If you use the Folders view, those options are irrelevant (I use unstructured).  You can set that view as the default landing page for music in the App settings for the home page.

The options are for processing Artists and Albums for Album view.
