I performed additional testing with lots of invalid content data. I found one bug which let the plugin crash, no idea if this addresses your issue. But it is possible to assign negative year values to content on Emby server's metadata. Also possible to assign unplausible positive data like year 77777. I'll address that glitch in next version.

@Lukethis should be intercepted by the server in the first place.

Yup agreed.

sorry, I don't have a log, I've already downgraded everything! But it must be the database if I upgrade from 4.10 to 4.12 then he wants to recreate the database and he can't do that. If I find anything else I'll let you know!

my setup everywhere KODI 20.1 and 20.3 different hardware librelec / Linux / Android
Latest EMby version (but it didn't work with the previous one either!)

Same error everywhere when the database is reset it starts again I log in to Emby and it tries to synchronize everything then it gets stuck or doesn't show anything anymore I restart and Emby starts again the first synchronization with the people and then tries to synchronize the films. But in the end the films are not displayed in Films, regardless of whether I repair the database or something else, oh yes, for me it always only shows that the Bibiotek films are connected but not series, even though I select all of them

The plugin should not even reset the database from 4.10 -> 4.12.

Anyway, without a log I can only guess.

Hello! I still have version 8 of the addon.

To install version 9, do I have to do anything else?

Thanks, I can see the issue. I'll fix that in next version.

"Fleabiscuit" -> has a problem with stream details, I'll catch that in next version.

fyi. I don't recommend using Emby server 4.9.X beta at the moment. There are some changes not covered yet by 9.X next-gen.

I'll add some modifications in next beta version to fully support 4.9.X

@Lukefyi, seems "SeasonId" is no longer reported by 4.9.X for episode content. As far as I checked, ParentID of an episode should be actually the SeasonId and ParentId must be request via "Fields" in 4.9.X. 4.8.X automatically reported both IDs.

Seems ParentId of an episode is not always the SeasonId. Any advise how to get the SeasonId of an episode. Do I need to query via fields parameter?

Morning!

Overnight update of Kodi to Kodi (21.0-BETA3 (20.90.830)  has caused some problems :-(.

On startup, all movies were missing (although other media types appeared ok).  Decided to do a full database reset, but unfortunately now NO items are syncing.

Interesting!  I don't sync that....as it's pretty useless in Kodi....I can delete it on Emby if you want me to try?

Cheers my friend - that seems to be working ok.

Sorry for the delay in replying, but the first time through the sync "something" went wrong, it appeared to be adding everything multiple times - following your advice on another post, I manually removed all the TVxx and MyVideosXXX db files (there were at least 4 historic versions of each!), and then did the sync all over again.  Movies added (& played fine).  Just adding Music and TV as we speak, but seems to be going ok.

Please try browsing via "PhotoAlbum"

Also you can try 10.X. This version actually addresses multiple issues with dynamic nodes.

PhotoAlbum browsing works for me now still using latest 9.x version. Thanks.

Speaking of episode content only:

Yes, I read that too. Sounds you always used ParentId for seasons. I always used SeasonId which was reported in 4.8X by default. As this is no longer reported by 4.9.X (probably a bug or an API change) I performed some tests with ParentId as well.

My test results are:

The ParentId reflects the SeasonID but ONLY if the folder structure is based on TVSHOW/SEASONNUMBER/EPISODES

The ParentID does NOT reflect the seasonID if the structure is TVSHOW/EPISODES

However, next-gen has a fallback detecting Seasons by PresentationUniqueKey. Unfortunately, there is a bug in the plugin code and it's not working yet, currently I'm fixing, that, anyway. Maybe you can use this approach as well until @Lukeprovides additional information for this matter.

Well I see an issue with the LiveStreamId. Yes, there is a minor bug in the plugin, however. Even if I fix that glitch, your content would not play.

Emby server doesn't report the LiveStreamId, no idea why but probably content related. What kind of LiveTV content are you trying to play?
