Hello

How do I edit the library.db file?
which program to use?

Hi. We absolutely do not suggest doing this.  Why do you wish to?

I have unresolved problems in emby, regarding always tracking the total files and regenerating them when there is a change of directory. That's why I was thinking about replacing the folder path inside the emby .DB

Example, the plant is on this path
E:\My Drive\EB-FM-SUBINDO\01-2000\tt8139850 511791

and I will change to the other directory
J:\My Drive\EB-FM-SUBINDO\01-2000\tt8139850 511791

So, I change this in the emby .db and emby doesn't redo the whole process again

there are hundreds of files each time, 500 files on average

Could you tell which of the .db files emby stores this directory information in? which of the .db files should I look for?

thanks

in which database file are the location of the emby files folders?

Example, the plant is on this path
E:\My Drive\EB-FM-SUBINDO\01-2000\tt8139850 511791\movie.mp4

Hi.  I would highly suggest abstracting the file location instead of trying to modify the Emby database.  The chances of you corrupting your database would seem quite high.

You could, instead, use a network share or other sort of mount point to make the two locations look like the same place to Emby.

I understand that there are risks of corrupting the database, but I am only replacing the media address and nothing else, precisely to avoid potential errors.

Could you please provide further clarification on your suggestion? They seem like good alternatives, but I couldn't grasp the details.

Just to reiterate, my major issue lies in Emby having to re-scan everything when I move large quantities of movies to another folder. The new folder is within the same library category as the previous one, yet there is still significant bandwidth consumption and a massive delay in the update process. Hence, the idea is to modify only the drive number in the database to address this issue.

You are first adding movies to a local location and allowing them to process and then moving them to a cloud location?

Yes, exactly. I add a folder with the same name as the cloud folder. Then, I scan, generate thumbnails, .nfo, .bif files, and everything is perfect. After that, I transfer the entire contents of the folder to the cloud.

My suggestion would be to find some way to mount the two locations such that their true target is abstracted so that, when you physically move one of them, it doesn't matter.

I'm trying but I haven't found a solution for this yet
