Chromecast not playing IPTV audio stream

I have  setup a complete new instance of Emby  on a virtual Ubuntu machine, please see my other topic for info

I've created some audio streams from local radio stations that I would like to have in our Chromecasts. These streams are setup individually within the IPTV plugin, and they are working well on a desktop with Firefox and on our Android phones. However, they do not seem to work on a Chromecast.

Sorry, something went wrong whilst editing the post.

==> I can open the stream, but after some seconds, the message appears "too many errors". I've tried fiddling around in the app settings available, but this does not solve the issue.

Hi.  Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares?

Which APK should I use for google TV ? I've tried the ARM64, but it states "app not suited for your tv"

Whats the difference between the sideloaded app and the official one in the play store ?

The sideloaded app is the direction we are moving towards. We are working on getting it into the store for TV devices.

Kick for this old topic. Been using Emby for almost a year now, primarily through the Chromecast. Kodi/osmc integration on a vero4k+ does not add more benefits for me.

Since the sideloading of the app on Chromecast all works 95% of the time.

Whats the status on the sideloading of the app?  Is the sideloaded app now the same version as the one we can find in the appstore and does the sideloaded app auto-updates ?

Hi.  Yes, that app is available in the store now.  You should install "Emby for Android" from the store.
