Emby External Connections

Hi Everyone, I searched but couldn't find anyone with this issue. 

I am trying to access my Emby server on an external connection. I login through Emby Connect but I get this error message when trying to add the server. 

I know my port forwarding is working and router isn't blocking me because If I simply enter my home IP into a browser, everything works fine.

Question is why doesn't external connection to my server work through Emby Connect login ?

Are you using Chrome?

Yes, tried Chrome and Edge.

Do you have SSL setup on your server? Chrome is likely force redirecting you to https://app.emby.media, try using http://app.emby.media (drop the "s" from "https"). Check that that address is actually shown in your address bar (http, not https and you have no lock icon).

Oh, yep, that was it. 

No, I don't have SSL setup yet. 

Confusing because the error message says to try the unsecured link, which I did click on... but like you said, browser forced me to the same secured link apparently, and I didn't realize it.
