Genre collections erroneously pulling from multiple folders?

Hi,

I'm running Emby Premium on a Synology NAS. My setup for music is as follows:

User1 has folders 1 & 3

User2 has folders 2 & 3

I am User1. When I click to show my library grouped by genre and shuffle a particular genre, it is playing songs from User2's folder 2. Folder 2 is excluded from User1's library so this shouldn't be happening.

Hi, yes sorry for the delay. Here's my example.

If user1 logs in, goes to their library (which contains only folders 1 & 3), then browse by genre, then selects for example metal and shuffle on that genre, it will play metal tracks from folder 2 as well as 1 & 3.

Folder 2 is only set up in user2's library. User 1 should not have access (and normally doesn't).

Are you able to update to Emby Server 4.7.14 and see if that helps?

Hi Luke,

I updated, and after skipping through about 20 songs it seems to not be playing from the incorrect folder. However, even after rescanning my library there are still album covers on the genre icon for metal that are in that other library (and definitely not in mine).

So the songs from the incorrect library folder no longer play when I shuffle the metal genre (fixed), but the album artwork from the incorrect folder still appears on the metal genre 'icon' (the one featuring album art from the genre). This is after I tried doing a library scan again on the correct library.

The circled album doesn't exist in my library, but it appears here from User 2's library.

Ok so we're just talking about the preview images. These images are not user-specific (at least not right now), so this is is going to happen.

We may at some point make them specific to each user to improve this, but what you could do in the meantime is assign your own image to the genre if desired.
