jmassaro87 28 Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 (edited) I have several Christmas/Holiday movies. At one point several years ago, I had gone through each individual movie and added the Christmas genre. Then a few years ago, I built my synology server moving over from an HTPC. Since then, my custom "Christmas" genre has disappeared from all but 4 movies which I know I have well over that. Is there a way to rebuild what I had, or is it going to be a manual process since the genre "Christmas" or "Holiday" is not an official genre in the DBs that provide the metadata? Starting from scratch or restoring available data (NFOs/Artwork)?

I built up the NAS, and the emby server then transferred the roughly 6 TB of files over to the new server. Edited November 22, 2023 by jmassaro87

In that case I'm afraid you'll have to re-add those genres as the only way to preserve custom edits (like adding custom Genres) is by writing NFOs with your media - if you didn't have those present at the time of ingestion on the new server, those edits would be lost. seanbuff 1318 Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 and you can use 'Bulky' from the Plugin Catalog to get those custom edits done quicker, allowing you to select multiple items and add new genres in one go. 1
