T800 10 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Is there anyway I can set a transcoding limit in XBMB3C? The only option I have is "Transcoding On/Off". It buffers a lot through XBMB3C but on my browser when I set it to 1Mbps it's fine. Can I set a 1Mbps limit on it somehow?
xnappo 1611 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Sure - it is under Settings->Network->Video Quality
T800 10 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 I don't seem to have that setting. To make sure it wasn't skin related I tried Confluence too:
xnappo 1611 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Are you running the version from the official repo? That is very old. Switch to the version in our repo: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/7194-xbmb3c-repo/ xnappo
T800 10 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Yes it was downloaded from the official repo. Just tried the new one, much better. Thank you.
T800 10 Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 Will we be able to adjust the bitrate on the fly like in the browser at some point ?
xnappo 1611 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Not really - we don't have any connection to the player directly. xnappo
T800 10 Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 How about bringing up the context menu while browsing the library and having it in there? I've found that with the internet connction going up and down at different times of the day/week it's slightly long winded exitting the add on, navigating to the addon settings, saving then reopening the addon and browsing backing to the file.
im85288 1493 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 It does already use the HLS protocol for streaming https://github.com/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser/wiki/Http-Live-Streaming where it has more than one stream to select from for optimum bandwidth. Adding the settings to the context menu is not a viable option in this case.
T800 10 Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 Does that mean it knows if it's stuggling and adjusts accordingly?
im85288 1493 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Yes it should pick the optimum stream for the bandwidth it detects on the fly.
