LittleWizard 31 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Is there a way to hide unused "play to" devices in Emby apps? I have lot of devices (about 12) but I use only 2-3 of them...
Luke 42081 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 HI, you can't choose specific ones to hide, but user permissions might help you a little bit. For example you can prevent users from being able to remote control a device that has another user signed in. This will help reduce the list somewhat.
LittleWizard 31 Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 Ok thanks, but not very easy to hide and un-hide that way. You could think to add an option to hide and un-hide specific destination in advanced option, in the future. Thanks!
LittleWizard 31 Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 Ps Is there a way to hide at least all dlna and Chromecast? I disabled "enable dlna play to", but the dlna and Chromecast destinations are still there? Do I have to reboot server?
LittleWizard 31 Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 Also a simple option to rename play to destination could be sufficient: You could rename preferred ones with a friendly name...

LittleWizard 31 Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 (edited) I have a device with both Emby for android TV and Emby android installed and they have the same name even if I assigned a name to only one. The screenshot attached is not with all devices (some are powered off), sometimes there are even more. Really consider adding the feature to hide and un-hide "play to" devices. But renaming is really something in the meanwhile. Thanks!!! Edited November 17, 2023 by LittleWizard
Luke 42081 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Those devices are all available, that's why they show up. If you want Emby apps to disappear, such as Emby for Android, then you need to do a full sign out in the app. Why do they still show up even after closing the app on the device - because Emby Server can still send messages to it using push notifications. That's why the app is considered always available once you're signed in.
