Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Server Version 4.7.14.0 As of this morning all devices that are connect to my Windows Emby server will not work. The devices just show ‘Select Server’. However when I select a server or try to ‘Add Server’ a message shows “This Emby Server needs to be updated. To download the latest version, pleased visit https://emby.media”. I have checked the version and it states I have the newest one. I tried using the backup from a few days ago but still no joy. Any ideas?
Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Hi there, what Emby app and version are you trying to connect with?

Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Hi Thank for the quick reply, I am using Emby for Android Version 3.3.40 and 2 nvidia shield running version 2.0.98g Emby Server Windows 4.7.14.0
Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 OK please attach the emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks.

Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 OK one more thing. Please temporarily enable debug logging in the server logs section. Then please try again using Emby for Android. Swipe close the app first to start it up fresh. After the problem has occurred again, then please attach the latest server log. After that you can disable debug logging. Thanks.

Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 I tried Android Version 3.3.40 and 2 NVidia shield running version 2.0.98g all three are unable to connect
Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 If I connect the Android device by WiFi it works fine but I need it when out and about.
Neminem 1519 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 You are running on windows right. Did you install windows updates ? Check if your nic has been set to public, then change It to be private.

Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 I have already looked there it is set to private
Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Yes I reproduced the same problem on all 3 devices. A few times.
Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 There's nothing even making it to your Emby Server. Are you using a reverse proxy?
Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 I do use a proxy. But when the issue started I switched it off and restarted the server/computer and still the same issue.
Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 But like I said when manually trying to add a server I get the message “This Emby Server needs to be updated. To download the latest version, pleased visit https://emby.media”

I think that's what's happening here.

Cleggy1980 4 Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 Afternoon, Just a quick update: I came home from work today, and Emby is working fine now. It must have just sorted itself out. Thanks for your help yesterday. All sorted 1
