smitbret 4 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) I manage my library with TinyMediaManager. It automatically creates Collections and allows me to do all of the editing and artwork choices from there and it is a much more streamlined process for me. Emby picks up that the movie(s) is/are part of a collection from the .nfo file but some of the artwork choices aren't ideal and I would prefer if Emby just picked it up from the the data generated by TMM. Is there a way to get Emby to recognize this or is manually creating/editing the collections through Emby the only way? Edited November 15, 2023 by smitbret Misspelling
GrimReaper 4744 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 What is your Movie Sets Artwork naming convention used?

Right now, TMM is saving the collection info to the server at <\\HOMESERVER\Emby Movie Collection Info\> Every Collection has its own folder name and contains an .nfo file, poster art and potentially fanart Basically, it's just a placeholder for now until I figure out how to make Emby use the information, though. I can and would set it up however is necessary
GrimReaper 4744 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) For NFOs, you'd want <movie set name>/collection.nfo. For Artwork, you'd want Kodi/Artwork Beef style. Note that majority of collections will work/be picked up except collections with folder names that contain colon or other special character (like /) , as TMM replaces it with underscore while Emby drops them or replaces them with space - in the exact example on your screenshot, folder name should be "28 Days Weeks Later Collection" instead of "28 Days_Weeks Later Collection" so it'll need manual intervention. But it's a minor annoyance and happens rarely enough not to be a burden. Edited November 15, 2023 by GrimReaper

OK, so I have made the adjustments that you have mentioned and verified that the .nfo file and artwork are one right (see screenshot) I have pulled 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later from the library, updated the metadata/artwork in TMM, corrected the "_" to a space, re-added them to the library and they are scanned back in. Emby is still pulling its own artwork and nfo, though. I get the feeling that I need to be putting the Collection Info folder someplace different. On the server, the local address is: <D:\Emby\Emby Movie Collection Info\28 Days Weeks Later Collection> I am guessing that I SHOULD be setting it to: <C:\Users\Brett\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\metadata\collections\28 Days Weeks Later Collection> Does that track? I just want to make sure before I start messing with Emby's database

Of course, Emby can only read/write from it's default location. 3 minutes ago, smitbret said: I am guessing that I SHOULD be setting it to: <C:\Users\Brett\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\metadata\collections\28 Days Weeks Later Collection> Yep, that sounds about right.
