mb3user000 0 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Does MB3 use mymovies.xml or movies.xml? I have both and would like to know which one I can delete? I'm guessing I should delete the Mymovies.xml but I would just like to be sure first. Thanks
Solution Tikuf 663 Posted October 19, 2013 Solution Posted October 19, 2013 Neither, it is movie.xml 1
blublub 10 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 The format "movie.xml" is supported by MyMovies Versio 4.06.
ebr 16169 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 The format "movie.xml" is supported by MyMovies Versio 4.06. Funny. Brian encrypted his file to force us to not be able to use it but then he turned around and implemented support for our new format...
all4dom 101 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Funny. Brian encrypted his file to force us to not be able to use it but then he turned around and implemented support for our new format... Then you guys should do the same. Let his user base migrate to mb.
Luke 42077 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 using mymovies as an alternative input will result in loss of feature due to all the new metadata we've added. using it as an output to manage my movies metadata could be interesting, but i'd rather focus my energy on xbmc metadata.
Luke 42077 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 @@blublub Where can I find information on mymovies supporting our movie.xml?
blublub 10 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Uhh ask in their forum. I think you need 1250 points to use it. I have tested it, i disabled media metadata lookup in mb3t and all metadata was present - so it works and that is very cool I think taptalked

blublub 10 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 1) to check if MM correctly writes movies.xml so that MB3 Server can read it correctly - when internet lookup is enabled I can't see where the metadata comes from. When disabled the lookup funkction and all info is cocrret the MM movies.xml export and import works correctly. 2) I have all my media managed with MM because it is quite a good programm and can write media tags for many application i.e MBS and JRiver. I have reduced the number of Genres in my Medialibrary and when MBS looks metadata up on the internet they will most likely be overwritten by the defaults values from IMDB etc... - that's why I prefer MBS talking the metadata from movies.xml
gcw07 347 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Since I highly doubt My Movies has been updated to support all the new features that have been added over the last 6 months to MB3, as long as you realize that a lot of features may end up be missing or not work at all with MM as a meta fetcher. The other fetchers outside of MB Server have updated their fetchers to match.
blublub 10 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Ok good info. I just tried MBS and it was just quick test. If I decide to use MBS permanently (which will depend on TV/PVR functionality) I might switch the media management to MBS if things are missing. Which other fetchers are available ? can u please name the most common? - thx If I can get a links to documentation what has changed in media management / tagging I can post it on MM forums if the MM support of MBS is valued from MBS devs.
