steven_pilch 5 Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Hi All, Having issue with my Live TV buffering on Emby. Not sure what the cause is, it seems that if I use ThreadFin (xTeve) to buffer the stream as a proxy it works better. But ideally I would want to eliminate ThreadFin completely. Let me know if there is something wrong in my setup/config. Thanks. ffmpeg-directstream-cd7fc0b0-fd1f-4cb5-9b69-088c7f8d530a_1.txt embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Hi @steven_pilchare you still having an issue with this? Have you tried Emby apps on other devices?
steven_pilch 5 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Hey @Luke I found another post on this forum for the same issue. Somewhere down in the replies they mentioned using StreamMaster. I have tested that out and it works way better then Threadfin, No more buffering or stuttering. Doesn't address my issue of using another server/app in between but it's working great, so I can't complain. I would note that I am using the native player setting in the app with StreamMaster. To answer your question, I would also see the issue on my Browser, but worked fine on my iPhone. Another note is that if I record the program that is having the issue, the recording play backs fine.
Luke 42077 Posted November 19, 2023 Posted November 19, 2023 So you're saying you're still seeing the issue in the browser with StreamMaster?
steven_pilch 5 Posted November 22, 2023 Author Posted November 22, 2023 If I use MPV on apple TV there is a sync issue. If I use Native it works without issue. On the web Browser there is no issue with using StreamMaster.
Luke 42077 Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 HI, we'll take a look at this. Thanks for reporting.

May I ask how you accomplished this? I set up StreamMaster, however when I copy the SM URL into Emby, the channels and logos get jumbled nonsensically. I have tried this multiple ways. 1. checking the 'use EPG from m3u' if available 2. not checking it 3. copying the SM EPG url into a new user guide data source 4. NOT using the SM and just using an xml or Emby guide source. Any help would be appreciated bc while its mostly good, I do get stuttering and buffering on occasion even though i have full gig internet and wired players. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Since i am on the east coast i use just the east when there is a east/west of the same channel.
CharlesF 36 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I eliminated dupes before I added the m3u
