Change playback speed with remote?

Is there a way to change the playback speed via remote? I often switch between speeds and using the menu is cumbersome.

Hi.  Not at this time.  Most modern device remotes have very few buttons on them so menus are the norm.

Realistically, I don't see this being added directly to the transport bar, at least not as default behavior. It's just not something that most people use.

not easy-to-use enough, I think "long press dpad ok" is an acceptable way, for it's causing lags now (the video will play and pause repeatedly and interfaces will stutter).

The interface will have no response or respond very slow for a few seconds, and the video will not play, I release the button, and have no idea the video is paused or not eventually, cuz the app is still loading or dealing with the play-pause-play-pause instructions.
By the way, I use android standard app 3.4.20 tv mode on CCWGTV. And I think when dpad ok is pressed, the app is supposed to take action after I release it, instead of play and pause repeatedly when I’m still holding the button.
