nusuzst 31 Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Hi, I have about 22k mp3/flac tracks - Emby showing 30k tracks, so 8k are doubles. How to get rid of them? tracks have different paths - same main folder.
Luke 42078 Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Hi, do you have more than one copy of the same tracks?
nusuzst 31 Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) I have "Music" folder since 2007. I had already mess in my library. Is getting bigger and bigger. Qnap was hacked twice. I found an old drive. I wanted to marge files. Then something happens. Then I was using an app to clear duplicates. Even more, mess happens. Don't ask Lucke.... It's complicated lol Now I have 8k copies of some tracks in my playlist that I need to delete it. Edited October 31, 2023 by nusuzst
Luke 42078 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 OK I don't quite understand the issue. Is the server showing tracks that you don't have?
nusuzst 31 Posted November 1, 2023 Author Posted November 1, 2023 Server/Emby is showing everything correctly. I just got a lot of duplicate tracks - and that was my mistake. Any chance Emby can help me delete duplicated tracks?
Luke 42078 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Hi, the best I think think of is what you're already doing - use table view where you can quickly see lots of info, along with the multi-select feature to delete in bulk.
nusuzst 31 Posted November 1, 2023 Author Posted November 1, 2023 Hi. The problem is that I have 30k mp3 and there are about 8k doubles
visproduction 315 Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 What about using an app to find and remove duplicate named files from the server / workstation side? Windows has several 3rd party apps. I like Glary Utilities. You can choose Check Intelligent tab and keep the oldest or newest automtically. When you hit 'Delete checked files', you will remove all the duplicates to trash all at once. You can do something similar with Mac or Linux using different methods. Hmmm, I see I have some cleaning to do. I have 44,980 duplicate files in one drive... Wow! https://www.glarysoft.com/downloads/?p=free-page
