rsaxman 0 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I can connect from all apps (iOS, theater, Roku) but the web app simply won't connect. I get an error to make sure that the server is running. I've even deleted my virus protection entirely just to see if that was somehow it. What's weird is that if I go to the IP address directly then I can get in, but if I log into app.emby.media then I get an error message Any thoughts?

Lots of topics on this over the past week since Chrome's behaviour became more aggressive - trying to force https when its not appropriate. Paul
Richard Branches 330 Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 So what should I do to use Chrome?

Choose between these options: Setup https for your emby server Make sure to use the http version of the hosted web app - http://app.emby.media . Chrome is aggressively redirecting so you may have to manually correct it a few times but it does seem to eventually remember and stop doing that. Use the web app built into your emby server via your ip address

Richard Branches 330 Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 (edited) I was able to access the server locally from my phone using my local IP address: 192.168.101.XXX:8096 And I was able to access the server remotely by using the external IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8096 All this without using the app.emby.media address, however, I'm trying to use a host setup at noip.com but it's a little hard to make it work, I already setup the router with it but still not success. Luke 42081 Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Quote I was able to access the server locally from my phone using my local IP address: 192.168.101.XXX:8096 And I was able to access the server remotely by using the external IP address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8096 Right, the convenience of app.emby.media is that it's one url for the browser that never changes. When you connect directly to your server, you may have to change the url in the browser depending on where you're connecting from. 1
