Stupid question: where are my music playlists?

I'm running 4.7.14.0.  On the client (Amazon Fire), I have playlists under music.  I just can't find them.  I've read the articles on this forum, but no good.  Can anyone help?

Told you it was stupid.

Hi, where are you looking for them?

Well, the folder I have in the "Playlists" library does not exist.  I DO have the import from music libraries (or whatever) checked.  What got me into this is I tried to add a playlist and it did not work.  If the playlists are in Emby's database, I suppose I could have imported them (presumably m3u) and they are just staying there.  If so, then the files that were imported are no longer in my music database.  I could have seen them and said "what is this for" and deleted them; who knows?  Anyhow, I didn't want to go off half-cocked on this.  I can certainly create the "missing" folder and put a playlist in there, or I can recreate a folder in my music library (yes, I can still find the files, just not where they belong).  I lean towards the later because all my music stuff would be in one place.  Hope this isn't too confusing.

Why do you think it didn't work? What exactly did you do?

Are you trying to find the playlists in the user interface or the data storage location?

I'm sorry, I know this is confusing.

What I did is to create a folder in what I think you referred to as the "data storage location" folder where all my mp3s are stored.  In that folder I placed all the .m3u files which point to files in that same folder.  I refreshed the music library, and it now seems to be sorted.  I did not change any settings.  I was able to create a new working playlist in this folder I created, and it worked.

Thank you for the response, Luke.  Took a while to get the old brain into gear.
