The issue of stuff being marked watched prematurely might have been a hiccup with the server.   I loaded up the server options and kept having error timeout messages so I rebooted everything.  So far so good.

 

That's what I was asking about.  I realize the seeking issues are specific to WMC.

Okay 228 has a couple of important changes for different groups of people and I really need some help testing them out.

 

1) For those of you having issues with multiple extenders using the same MB account, please try this version and see if the problems go away.

 

2) For you theme-video/song guys, this version folds that functionality into the core.  Please test out with all themes (pun intended - I mean all types of theme videos and songs as well as all types of visual themes).  The options have been simplified a bit.  Voice your opinion but it is going to take a lot to sway me as I don't want this to be one of those features that is so hard to figure out how it works that it isn't worth it.

 

Basically, if theme videos exist, they will play.  If no videos exists but a song does, it will play.  If none of those exist and you turn on the option to play trailers as backgrounds, and there is a local trailer, then it will play.

 

So, you control what plays by what media you provide the system as opposed to selecting a complex option.

The only issue I see with this is that these themes are often bundled and will download both theme vids and songs.  sometimes people like a change and going thru and deleting all of your theme vids just to get songs is pretty laborious for the user.  Also turning on the option to play trailers should override theme videos, but then play the theme video first.

A trailer should override a theme video?  That is backwards to me. The theme video should be something like the BD menu background which is designed to loop and be viewed at all times but I wouldn't want a trailer to play every single time I viewed an item.  That would get pretty old pretty quick it seems...

 

Plus, playing a trailer is just a couple clicks away on the detail page anyway.

Theme Songs are being played first over videos for me. Should be the other way around. The themes should also play when entering an item from the ehs they but dont seem to be playing anything.

Yeah, that's not right - videos should take priority.  I'll take a look.

I just tested this and can't reproduce.  I have a TV series with both a theme song and video backdrop and the video backdrop plays, not the song.  Are you sure you don't also still have the plug-in installed?

Yeah, like recently added or unwatched etc.

Just to carry over my previous issue, with version 225 I'm now getting sound when I chapter jump but it's like a second or so of skipping audio.  The rest is the same issue.

 

Just tested this - if I pause the video, jump to a chapter, and then hit play, it plays fine.  If I don't pause it first, I get either no audio or skipping audio and stopping the video won't resume/play until I exit the view and try again.

 

Nothing has changed on my system other than the versions of server and MBC.  No updates, no configuration changes, no codec changes, heck I don't even remember when the last windows update was.

I really don't think this is related to a change in MBC but install the release version and see if it behaves differently.  If it does, we'll know I'm wrong.

I'll give 231 a go, here is problem I'm seeing with extenders when it comes to random play or play all, I need to retest MB Plus as well to confirm. The first item shows correctly through the server web ui on whats playing but then from there it just shows that the user is connected and not that they are playing anything. Not sure anything can be done because of how the playing of multiple files works in media center but thought I would bring it up.

I'm messing with newly exposed art stuff in the advanced section and while the primary and thumb go by a +10 or -10 adjustments the backdrop goes by 50 which I understand was smart to jump it up a bit for convenience in a GUI.. Only problem is when I try to bring it to 1280 for max width on backdrops its not a choice, it wants to make it 1270.
