It doesn't play on devices on the same network if it doesn't have Emby

Hello

I would like to know if it is no longer possible to watch on several devices within the same internal network without emby premiere?

Emby is installed on Windows 10, at the local address 192.168.100.7 . I want to watch on the xbox which is on the same network 192.168.100.134 but it keeps asking me to activate emby premier to release and watch.

Did this happen before or only started happening in the last few days.

Thank you very much
J.R.

Emby premier is required for playback on all of the installable apps. (except Roku, Apple TV, LG and Samsung Smart TVs) Been this way the entire time I've used Emby.

The only free client is the web browser based app (both desktop and mobile).

Details here: https://emby.media/support/articles/Premiere-Feature-Matrix.html

Ps @Abobader

@Lukejdjrjdje@Lukejdjrjdje   (JFC WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS DAMN EDITOR, all I did was press space and all that garbage was added.... I also can't remove the newline between your names at all)

What I'm trying to say here is the 'emby premier feature matrix' links on https://emby.media/premiere.html link to Github which immediately tells you to return to emby.media. This is stupid.

@darkassassin07 Did you try the key "##" (without the quote) to get list link doc for Emby help guide, example:

Emby Premiere

?? I don't know what you're asking about.

I'm viewing https://emby.media/premiere.html I then click the 'Feature Matrix' link just above the licence options at the bottom of the page which takes me to: Https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Emby-Premiere-Feature-Matrix

That then says "Please see our new Knowledge Base: Emby Premiere Feature Matrix" instead of just linking to https://emby.media/support/articles/Premiere-Feature-Matrix.html directly.

Just type: ##

See the list and then test the link.

The wiki is did not update since 2020 or something, so it is @Carlo to fix that.

That's neat.

This has nothing to do with updating the wiki.

My point is your website should not be linking to the github wiki in the first place. The links on emby.media should link to the other pages of emby.media, not send the user to another site which then has them return to emby.media

Remove the pointless extra step and link directly to your own pages.

Hi, we'll take a look at this. Thanks.

@Lukeno doubt, but how does that answer the OP's question?  Is that an indirect way of agreeing with darkassassin07 or something?

Not sure what you're asking here, as @darkassassin07stated, Premiere Feature Matrix clearly states that Full Playback on consoles requires valid Premiere subscription, doesn't matter whether local or remote.

Quote
Game Consoles (Xbox One or PS4) Free   Premiere
Limited Playback (one-minute only)

Full Playback

Live TV

Not sure what you're asking here,

Luke's response didn't make sense to me, so I was asking what HIS response meant or how it was supposed to answer the OP's question.  I don't want to cause confusion, so feel free to delete my posts.

He was merely pointing out that payments help towards development.

Right, but why say that in the context of this question?  It seemed random.  He could say that in any thread.
