FLAC issue

I have a 4k video with an 8 channel FLAC file.  Have an NVidia Shield Pro TV unit and specs say it supports FLAC but Shield starts transcoding the audio.  Any idea why?

Hi there, did you explore the server dashboard to learn why it was transcoding?

Hi.  I believe it only supports stereo FLAC.

Thanks yeah don't think the specs say anything just mention FLAC but don't get to that level so probably right.  I converted it to 8-channel AAC and seems OK now.  Not sure if there is a better format to convert it to that a consumer would ben able to do.
