How to convert photos taken in "motion photo"?

I am probably asking for the moon, but my pictures taken with Samsung phone were "motion" pictures.

Went on a three week road trip with brother and took a lot of photos AND videos on my Samsung cellular phone.  Today, after uploading to Emby, all of my photos are 2 second videos, not just a picture.  I discovered that my phone has a setting to change my still photos a video............

Is there a way for Emby to JUST display those pictures as a  picture and NOT a video??

Perhaps someone knows how to convert those motion pictures to just a plain ole picture with the imbedded (watermark) data like location and time taken.  when I look at the photo, I would like to see the date and time taken.  That information is there when I view the photo with a photo viewer.

thanks.

I do not believe Emby can do what you want however VLC has the ability to save a piece of a video, long or short, as a jpg. I would think that many stand alone video players have a feature like that.

Be aware that often "phones" do something to videos that makes extracting a photo from a video difficult, at best.

I think you need to look around the various video players you have available and see if one or more has the ability to do what you want.

It probably is actually a video on the phone, so when it gets uploaded to Emby Server, that's how the server sees it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

After further digging, it appears that either my phone or Google Photos created both the photo "jpg" AND "MP4".  I can't batch delete, because of file sizes of the videos that I created and the ones that my phone created.....

Edit: after more digging, I discovered that MY PHONE was creating both the "jpg" and "MP4".

So, that brings up the question, why did Emby pick the "MP4" file and not the "jpg" file.

Here is a sample of the same photo as a still photo and a motion video of the same picture.  Emby only displayed the motion video and not the still image.

The files only show under Video and not photo........ strange.  However I am deleting all of the motion videos of the photo.
