annibal 4 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Hi everyone I have loaded about 2500 complete TV series into emby but as soon as the scan is finished I don't see the images or even the descriptions the files are named for example 9-1-1.Stagioni.1-2-3-4-5-6.Complete.ITA where the original title is 9-1-1 I used plex for years but these files automatically took the poster and description I would like to know if there is a setting that could help me set them automatically because modifying over 2500 series takes several days of time Let me know thank you for all your effort in this wonderful software
GrimReaper 4739 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 (edited) That means your TV shows likely have not been identified or something is blocking your outgoing requests. How are your files and folders named and organized? Post server log. How to Report a Problem Edited October 18, 2023 by GrimReaper
annibal 4 Posted October 18, 2023 Author Posted October 18, 2023 there he is It's still finishing scanning because I added more folders to read embyserver(2).txt
Luke 42077 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Hi, can you please show complete examples of how your files are named and organized? Thanks.
annibal 4 Posted October 18, 2023 Author Posted October 18, 2023 and this is the example of that file that I put up as seen in emby after it finished updating all the metadata it seems he can't find any posters or even information and the title of the TV series remains the initial one

annibal 4 Posted October 19, 2023 Author Posted October 19, 2023 in some folders emby renames them correctly and finds the posters and file descriptions as per the attached image in all the rest of the files it does not process them and keeps the names of the existing files and does not find descriptions and posters
Luke 42077 Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Have you taken a look at our TV naming guide? TV Naming
annibal 4 Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Yes, I looked but it doesn't help me solve the problem Renaming all the folders I have is crazy it would take whole weeks
Spaceboy 2573 Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 well, you're going to have to do something to get your folder structure in a format that emby can use. doesnt need to be manual. there are programs that can do this for you. what put the files in that folder structure, for example?
annibal 4 Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 From the example I showed in the photos I don't understand why it recognizes some files and most doesn't intent are written in the same way as in the images attached above If I could figure out which file is in charge of the scan, perhaps by modifying it I would be able to solve the problem and then I can't rename the files because they are connected to other systems
Spaceboy 2573 Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 unless files align to the emby naming guide you're going to struggle. the only advice you are going to get is to rename them to one of the prescribed formats. you're going to have to find a way to work around those "other systems"
Luke 42077 Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 We are always looking at improving our matching to support as many possible file naming schemes as we can. That's why I've asked several times to see how your files and folders are named in your file system, not in Emby. For today, I would suggest checking out our TV naming guide to get you squared away, but if you can give me examples of frequently used file and folder naming schemes, then I can jot them down and we might be able to accommodate them in a future release.
annibal 4 Posted October 21, 2023 Author Posted October 21, 2023 Thank you for your availability but unfortunately they are not arranged very well but I repeat with plex which I have used for years 95% of them were arranged automatically I also tried Jellyfin before finally switching to Emby but with the 95% Jellifyn that I had in plex I went to around 50% in emby almost all to be fixed by hand I thought there was a wrong configuration in my control panel here are my questions about it However, I started to arrange them manually, patience but without a doubt I'm staying with emby as I'm learning to know it and I'm very satisfied
Luke 42077 Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 If you do a fresh install of the 4.8 beta server you might get better results as it has improved series matching. Thanks for the feedback.
annibal 4 Posted October 23, 2023 Author Posted October 23, 2023 sorry, I can't find the emby-beta installation or download could you write the address for downloading and installing the beta server? Thank you
