Belligero 0 Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Trying to find out why audio sounds trash coming from Emby but fine through plex. Same 1080p movie. Audio is DTS-HD MA 5.1 Same browser. Through plex its fine. A little soft but sounds good. Here is the info from dashboard audio English DTS-HD MA 5.1 (Default) Transcode (MP3 384 kbps) Through emby it sounds terrible. Distorted especially with part with bass. I assume its transcoding from 5.1 down to stereo but why is plex handling it fine but Emby isn't. Is there a fix for this. Trying to avoid Plex as it's getting clouded with all these added stuff these days

Belligero 0 Posted October 12, 2023 Author Posted October 12, 2023 (edited) Not sure how much data you need but this is in the logs cpb: bitrate max/min/avg: 5006000/0/0 buffer size: 10012000 vbv_delay: N/A Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 192 kb/s (default) I think its just Emby can't transcode 5.1 down to stereo without bombing it Would be nice to know why Plex can handle it but not Emby Edited October 12, 2023 by Belligero
