guill69f 17 Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I have Kodi installs fetching directly their content from NAS shares, and I have created some smart playlists in these Kodi installs based on MPAA rating, country etc. Now I am considering moving to installing EmbyCon in my Kodi installs, but i am struggling to create smart playlists as i did before. are there any ways to create smartplaylists in EmbyCon? or do they need to be created in Emby Server? Where in that case? thanks
Luke 42312 Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Hi, a smart playlist feature is planned for future updates. Thanks.
danzigman 3 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago You can make smart playlists using Kodi with Emby for Kodi.
guill69f 17 Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Thanks. But i no longer use Kodi, it has served me well but now and for some time i have installed Emby on a Nvidia Shield, it works great (excepted for smart playlists )
danzigman 3 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago You can use the HomeScreenCompanion plugin for Emby to make something like smart playlists: it can automatically tag or put videos in collections which follow certain criteria. My problem is that Emby apps can't do things like show more video details as you browse playlists. Only Kodi has been able to do that.
guill69f 17 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago thanks, i did not know Home Screen Companion. I installed the previous version to try it out (AutoTag) but in the process i read that smartplaylists are coming to Emby with version 4.10. I'll be waiting for a stable release then
