Prevent Emby from creating chapters

Hi. 

is there away to stop emby creating chapters for files that have them removed

as you can see they are not in the source file

i have deleted the metadata and refreshed and they still show up

Depending on your library settings - emby will be creating them for you if they are missing (every 5 minutes)

If you don't want them, set the below to never - and it won't attempt to display the 'chapters' row. I don't believe you can turn off 'chapters' per file.

If you have purposely deleted the BIF file, then emby is going to try and recreate it on the next scan.

it is already set to never.

i did a search for the .bif file on the plex server but cant find one

There is currently no way to stop this from happening but I think making it optional would be a good thing to do.

Why do you want to prevent it?

You can add a single chapter to the start of the video. This prevents chapters being created, while also effectively not having any chapters in the video itself.

Apologies for delay in replying. i am am currently converting everything over from plex to emby

i am enjoying emby so much compared to all the recent issues i was having with plex.

i havent tried crusher11 suggestion yet, hope to get to it today

the main reason i want to get rid of the chapters is, when i use the up or down button when playing a film i get the list of chapters, i will put a suggestion in the feature request section for the option for Emby to stop creating chapters completely as an individual option
