Login Using Emby Connect Not Working

I have a few people who have told me that they can't log in using Emby Connect.  They've reset their passwords but it still tells them "Sign In Error Invalid username or password. Please try again".  In my testing, I can't log in using my username/password but if I switch to using my email/password it will let me in.  This trick however doesn't work for the other users.

The users have tried to log in to app.emby.media and sometimes that works but they can't log in to my server using the same credentials. I was trying to get them to verify that they used the correct username and password. 

I'm an Emby Premiere user and happy to provide any info to help resolve this.  Thanks.

Hi.  I missed this in  your PM but that is the problem.  You must now use an email address for login.  You can't use the Connect user name.  Local user names will still work but, with Connect, it must be the email address.  This is for security reasons.

The login screen should specifically state "Enter email address".

My emby install running 4.7.14.0 shows this for the login screen.  When I view my user details it also still shows their Emby Connect usernames not their emby connect email.  Not sure if that part is intentional.

HI.  That is your local web app and you can login with your local user name.

If you go to app.emby.media what does it say?

Gotcha.  So is the local username the "Name" field on my local server?  And if they are trying to login to my server can I use my local name and my emby connect password or would the password need to be whatever is setup on the users password tab?

When I populate the Emby connect email address field with an email it updates it to be a username on save.

Yes.

No.  You would need to use the password setup on the local account.

What version of the server?
