theboultbees 2 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Just got a new computer and set up Emby server on it. Everything worked fine after the initial media scan but as soon as I did the import of play states from Trakt it became unusable. The home screen on Windows is painfully slow to load and it is not usable on Roku, likely due to the slowness issue. I un-installed Emby and reinstalled and the same thing happened. I re-ran the media scan but that did not help. Attached are the log files from the last install. hardware_detection-63831683249.txt hardware_detection-63831685462.txt hardware_detection-63831685472.txt hardware_detection-63831705586.txt hardware_detection-63831705597.txt embyserver-63831706806.txt hardware_detection-63831706829.txt embyserver-63831707111.txt hardware_detection-63831707132.txt embyserver-63831707546.txt hardware_detection-63831707566.txt hardware_detection-63831713882.txt embyserver-63831715200.txt hardware_detection-63831713914.txt hardware_detection-63831743970.txt embyserver-63831746195.txt embyserver-63831746898.txt hardware_detection-63831743977.txt hardware_detection-63831745980.txt hardware_detection-63831745989.txt hardware_detection-63831746220.txt hardware_detection-63831746919.txt hardware_detection-63831765185.txt hardware_detection-63831765204.txt embyserver.txt

Luke 42083 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Hi, you could try removing the trakt plugin, then restarting the server and seeing how things compare.
theboultbees 2 Posted October 1, 2023 Author Posted October 1, 2023 Hi, that worked. I uninstalled and restarted the server and it is now as responsive as normal. Should I try to reinstall Trakt but skip the import this time? All the files seem to retain their watched status after the uninstall.
Luke 42083 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I would try installing it again and then running the import during off-hours if you find that it's consuming a lot of resources.
Luke 42083 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 But I can also see that in one log, the activity is filled with Intro detection, not Trakt, so it could be that. Remember that when you enabled intro detection there was a warning underneath the field that it would cause library scans to take significantly longer and use more resources.
theboultbees 2 Posted October 1, 2023 Author Posted October 1, 2023 I do not recall enabling Intro detection - I am not even sure what this is. Also, I do not think that this is it - it worked fine before the Trakt import and it is working fine now that Trakt has been uninstalled. The actual import did not take that long what I can recall.

You might be right that it's not the problem. I haven't looked at every single log but I did see that in one of them, so i just thought it was worth mentioning.
theboultbees 2 Posted October 1, 2023 Author Posted October 1, 2023 It certainly is bizarre and is the first time since I started using Emby a long long time ago that I have had a problem. I will advise on what happens when I reinstall Trakt (note that I will not be running the import as I do not think that is needed). 1
Solution theboultbees 2 Posted October 6, 2023 Author Solution Posted October 6, 2023 I think this is resolved now. The 2nd reinstall worked (it was not updating Trakt so I had to uninstall and reinstall/register again). Everything seems to be responsive and Trakt is being updated. Thank you for all your help - you can now mark this as closed. 1
