calmcacil 8 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Could we get an user definable setting for how long to keep showing something in continue watching? Bonus points if it would take "air date" into consideration, i.e. if i set it to 30 days, it would keep something in continue watching until it had been 30 days since it was watched, or 30 days after it aired so that it wouldnt stop showing new seasons when they get released. 1
Luke 42078 Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 HI, so basically after a while you don't want to see it anymore?
calmcacil 8 Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 Yeah that's how i believe both JF and Plex On Deck handles it. You have a configurable setting for how many weeks to keep them on list, then if you go back to the show and watch another episode it'll appear back, basically filters based on when it was watched. Its relevant for me because due to shows I have seen and stopped after the first season, meaning to eventually pick up again so at this point i have 135 items on my continue watching and it feels like it affects performance as well. Especially since I can't use the remove from continue watching option due to the issue i posted under Testing. (Also It doesnt seem like it comes back to continue watching if you start watching the show again, and i havent found a way to restore an item to the continue watching list) 1
calmcacil 8 Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 An alternative patchwork solution for having too many items on the continue watching row would probably be incorporating a sane limit to how many entries are fetched. because as it stands right now it actually lags some of my clients when scrolling the continue watching row. but obviously also being able to set a "time since the last episode in the show" was watched would be my prefered option. Bonus points for using when a show was "Last watched" and using "Date Added" of the season if its more recent then the "Last Watched" time. So that if a new season comes out or something it'd fall back on using the seasons release timing to override last watched time.
Luke 42078 Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 I think an expiration date option makes the most sense. Thanks. 1
