smoon 10 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Hey there Iam now using emby since a few weeks, for now it looks like everything is working fine. There ist just one thing that bothers me a bit: When adding a new episode to an already existing series the server is scanning ALL Episodes for Intros again, everytime I add an episode to a Series. My question is if that should it be that way because it is slowing down the process of adding new episodes to emby, espacially when there is a series with 1000+ episodes. Maybe that can be changed in future releases that only the new episode will be searched for Intros?

Maybe that can be changed in future releases that only the new episode will be searched for Intros? The very nature of how Introskip detects the intro is to compare it against other episodes in the same season. Thus as a minimum, you need 2 epsiodes per season for Introskip to work. The more episodes you have, the greater the detection accuracy. These existing episodes should already have a 'fingerprint' and thus adding a new episode should just creates a single new 'fingerprint' - the rest of the detection (comparison to the other episodes) should be mathmatics/logic. I'm not 100% sure on the Core Introskip, but if you have way more than the normal number of episodes per 'Season' (lets say 20+) then things may start to bog down because you start to exponentially increase the maths as each episode is compared to all the other episodes. If you still have concerns, turn on debug logging and post the log of when the Introskip task runs - you should be able to see the calculations it is doing. Edited September 30, 2023 by rbjtech
