Donnager 0 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 (edited) Hello, for my TV shows I often use NFO files for lesser known shows. I know I can use the following tags <actor> <name></name> <role></role> </actor> to define actors. But often, TV shows like game shows don't have "actors", but just a cast, participants, show-hosts/moderators, producers etc. Are there other XML tags to define those? Thanks a lot! rbjtech 5284 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 NFO files/Templates - Official Kodi Wiki have a look here - some examples of producer, credits etc ..
Donnager 0 Posted September 30, 2023 Author Posted September 30, 2023 I only see <director></director> But how do you specify the host of a game show, for example? Or the participant of that show?
Donnager 0 Posted October 1, 2023 Author Posted October 1, 2023 So, is this list correct and complete? <actor> <name></name> <role></role> <order></order> </actor> <director></director> <composer></composer> <producer></producer> <writer></writer> <gueststar></gueststar> where <actor> and <gueststar> can be present more than one time?
Luke 42079 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Yes I would see the link above for examples. Thanks.

I just tested it with NFO files tvshow.nfo and the NFO file for a specific episode. It seems, these are the ones that get recognized: <director></director> <writer></writer> But these are ignored: <composer></composer> <producer></producer> <gueststar></gueststar> But maybe <composer> and <producer> are only for music? On the other hand, <gueststar> is ignored completely. I really miss an XML element to specify a person as a participant for e.g. a game show. <gueststar> could fit, but it gets ignored.

Why don't you just put them under actors? <actor> <name>John Doe</name> <role>Participant</role> </actor>

I'm not sure, I think that I thought it is semantically incorrect. A "role" was only a character in a movie, for example. But of course, beeing a participant is also kind of a role. It depends on how the semantics are handled from the Emby side. What is the meaning of a "role" for Emby?
