4K Movies stocking / stuttering only with Emby on Synology DS2422+

Hello,

i have the following problem with Emby on my Synology DS2422+:

When i have any 4K Movie, it will stutter during the playback. When i have the same TV using VideoLAN for e.g. the movie can just play fine.
So i guess there is a problem with the transcoding?

Is it possible to turn of transcoding for 4K content? Or is it possible to cache more of the movie?

Is there any method that emby can play the movies like VideoLAN without any stutter?
I tired 20GB movie or 60GB movies, with VLC the playback always just works fine.

Also when i play the movies in windows from a netdrive with VLC it plays correct, but with emby i keep getting the stocking / stuttering.

Can somebody help here?

Please find attached the log.

The last movie i played was 4K. The Title is "Missing (2023)".

I played the movie via Brower on Windows PC.

Every 3 seconds the video stops for 1 second,. then play 3 seconds, then stop 1 second, etc...

Hi, there is no option for that, but I've been meaning to add a setting for this in server transcoding settings, to limit the transcoding output.

That way instead of converting 4K-4K, it would be something like 4K-1080p.

Would that help?

When i use the 1080p option form a 4K source, its still stuttering.

Iam finished with emby on synology now, i will move to powerhouse windows server again :)

Well that is one option. Do you have Emby Premiere for hardware transcoding support?
