oceanclub 12 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 I originally set up two separate movie libraries, and created collections which sometimes have movies from both in it. I want to combine those libraries into one. If I simply deleted one library, and add the folder(s) that comprise it to the other movie library, will my collection remain as they are?
Luke 42083 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Hi, do you have nfo files next to your movies and is Emby Server configured to save nfo files?

Yep, there are NFO files alongside the movies, but only in one library. Is the configuration option you're referring to this? Metadata Savers Nfo Choose the file formats to save your metadata to. If so yes, I have that option checked for only one of the libraries I want to merge. P.
Luke 42083 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Great, so the nfo files should contain the collections, which means they'll be reimported again when you add the library back.
oceanclub 12 Posted September 27, 2023 Author Posted September 27, 2023 Hi Luke, Only one library (let's call it Y) has NFOs. So my plan is: Turn on the Metadata Savers > NFO option for Library X. Copy all the files from Library Y to Library X. Delete Library Y. Rename Library X to my chosen name. Should that mean my collections, etc, are preserved?
Luke 42083 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 If you have pre-existing nfo files, then yes. Quote Turn on the Metadata Savers > NFO option for Library X. Turn on the reader option as well, and just as importantly, please make sure to read the info text at the top of the library options dialog.
