Hispanico957 23 Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 I ask you for advice as I need to change modem/router. I purchase a Fritz!Box 5590 fiber and in the various settings I see that in addition to giving it the 8096 (http) and 8920 (https) ports I can enable automatic ports on the Nas. Now in Emby server should I activate automatic port mapping or not? Thank Hispa
rbjtech 5284 Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Where possible, turn off upnp and do it manually on the router - it is much safer and I would be surprised if this Fritz! box had upnp enabled by default. 1

Ok understand so i disable upnp on option in Emby Server e open port on router. No no the router not have upnp enable by default, but its possible enable. So in case on Emby server is sufficient open port 8096 and 8920 or also enable upnp on router for the specific device /ip ? Thank Hispa

Siljerev 0 Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Definitly not. Port forward only and disable UPNP and automatic port mapping. Had on and off emby remote buffering issues for years until I disabled this
