Remote connecting to Emby Server with static ip

Hello my name is Richard & i really like Emby.

When i port forward ports 8096 & 8920 on my router with a static ip address on my wifi adapter, it Emby works remotely but certain webpages will not open when im browsing the web, i think it is something to do with ipv6 as when i set up static ip i just change the ipv4 , am i supposed to change ipv6 to the same static ip address?

Unable to wire direct to pc & my wifi adapter is netgear a7000 wifi usb3.0 adapter

pc-Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz   2.90 GHz  ,   ram 16gb running windows 10 64 bit using edge browser for emby

Also when forwarding ports in router which is NowTV Hub 2 - NR801 i only forwarded ports in the ipv4 section, was i supposed to forward through ipv6 also & what is ipv4 and ipv6 anyway bit of a dummy when it comes to networks & firewalls.

Please advise, thank you

I figured out how to connect with port mapping for now but would love to get answers to my static ip address question  for future reference.

Thank you

P.S Does the trailer plugin download trailers for my collection & if so does it put them into my movies folders with premiere subscription

Hi, I'm not really sure what you're asking. where exactly did you configure a static ip, and what exactly did you configure?

I configured a static ip on my netgear a7000 wifi usb3.0 adapter using ipv4 and it worked for connecting remotely to Emby but at home local some web pages would not open and some would , now i got the impression from browsing online that some webpages use ipv6  and that was the reason but i really don't know as when it comes to networks & firewalls I'm lost .

But got it going with port mapping so far so everything is okay , but will port mapping keep port open when the pc ip address changes?

Thank you

Hi, it should, and I hope it does for you, but the automatic port mapping is not guaranteed to work with every single router. You may want to give it a static IP on the LAN just to keep things simple.

Hi, it doesn't download, but rather makes them available to stream.
