Can't Add Network Folder to Library

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am changing my setup and I now have my media on a separate server.  I have mapped the location to a Windows Drive, and I can't add either the drive, of the full location //<server>/<share>/<folder> to the Library.

Is this a known issue?  This is the first time I've tried adding a network location, so I wasn't sure what's going on.

Hi there, what exactly happens when you try?

sounds like the user under which emby is running doesnt have access to your new media location

I get the error: The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again.

It's the same user I mapped the drive with, so I don't know how/why it wouldn't.  Permissions on TrueNAS have the SMB share set to full permissions for Everyone.

What path did you enter?

I tried D:\Video\Anime since I mapped D to the network share

I also tried \\truenas\Video\Anime in both the folder and the optional Network Share.

I tried clicking Network and it didn't do anything, it just put "Wireless" in the folder and then I put the \\truenas\Video\Anime in the network share

All the same share.

Make sure all of these paths work when entering them into the address bar of windows explorer. If they don't work there, then they won't work with Emby Server either.

Yes, I tried and confirmed that before I posted.

I gave up.  This was supposed to be for a temp thing while I moved over to TrueNAS, but I just made the jump in full.

There was something funky going on my with drives, so it is possible it was due to that.
