Continue Watching (Not grouping, grouped movies)

When I group duplicate versions of movies, I would expect the continue watching to also honor my grouping, currently it splits it apart so if you have 5 versions of one thing, it now shows up 5x.

What do you mean by grouping? Multi-versioning? Using core function or plugin?

EX. You group 4k, 1080p, 1080p Extended, 1080P Directors, you only watch a few min, you now have duplicates in continue watching, 1 for each version, but if you goto the movies library you only see 1.

Then yes, you should see only single CW entry with versions grouped. Do all of your versions have same External ID fields populated with same IDs?

I tracked it down, yes it seems like the grouping works, the issue is "Channels".  If you have a channel that has the same item in it, it also gets shown.  Is there an option to not show channels in continue watching?

Hmmmm, don't think so - or at least can't think of any conventional way. You might wanna give a go with the Auto-grouping plugin, though I honestly don't know whether it will work with channels.

Out of curiosity, why do you have so many channels for local content? They are usually used for introducing external content, there are several other means to tackle local content lists/collections/groups?

Because I dont like how collections are implemented as you cant pin them to the home, and are multi clicks under a library.  A channel can appear on the home page and looks/functions like a library with the left/right scrolling so you can see whats in it w/out having to go into it.  Plex has the ability to pin collections to the home/navigation, emby does not.  So to get the same feeling, you need to use a channel.  So Im pulling a list of tvdb/imdb IDs from an api like imdb top 250 and making it a channel that uses the library as a source.
