Sorry for the delayed response. I am trying to connect to my own Emby  server.

Ultimately it worked early this week, and while my wife was trying to watch a movie it was stuck on the loading circle. We currently are using Emby on our firestick tv. At some point it logged us out, and every time we go sign in with connect it request we put in a  host or server name. Then this connection error pops up after a while.

Is your Emby Server running? Are you able to use the Emby web interface on the server machine?

Check in the task manager  (Windows) or system monitor (Linux) of the machine it's running on, for a start.

See whether the Emby ports are in use:

Windows: netstat -ano | findstr [Port Number] 
Linux: netstat -ano | grep [Port Number]

(Use port number 8096 unless you've changed it)
