danergo 37 Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 I started a playback on my Android phone. Emby server is up to date, on a Linux machine (aarch64), in the same local network as my phone. Emby app on my phone remembered 1080p setting for playback when I started to playback a GoPro video. So Emby server started an ffmpeg instance to transcode my video for playback. Unfortunately this machine is not powerful enough to do software conversion, and Emby is not supporting this architecture for hardware encoding. It took me minutes to get to the 'gear icon' on the video playback screen (which was all black constantly) and change the quality back to full 4K - 160MBps. Then, after setting this, my video started playing back (as it's in the local network, direct play is perfect). However, Emby didn't stop the ffmpeg instance and it loaded my 4core CPU to full usage unnecessary. Please find my logs attached. I really hope you can see something in it. Thank you. ffmpeg-transcode-950c0ac1-4130-4a52-9062-863e6f590bdc_1.txt embyserver (1).txt
danergo 37 Posted October 25, 2023 Author Posted October 25, 2023 Hi, @LukeI didn't use that particular device recently so I'll have to double-check. Did any improvement happened around that subject in the recent version? Otherwise, I'd think I'm still going to see this problem.
