TV Episodes with multi language external Subs

I did a quick search and nothing came up for this, if there is an existing topic for this, please feel free to move this

Movies can use a Subs folder for multiple language external sub files
OR they can be placed internally, OR labelled individually.

Where TV episodes the sub files have to be labeled individually in the proper convention, and there is no way to use a Subs folder for TV episodes with external sub files
BUT, they can be placed intenally

Is that the current situation, or is there a way to use a Subs folder within the TV directory?

IIRC the playlist function is being changed from XML to M3U etc
