hoonlight 18 Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 (edited) If the Emby team can't fix this issue for technical reasons for the time being, I think it would be better to force the emby app to transcode the video when it detects IOS + hdr (hdr10, DV). That would be better than Direct Play + weird green video. Additionally, this issue does not occur in the MAC Emby app. Edited May 18, 2024 by hoonlight
Luke 42077 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Hi, we are looking into this. Thanks for reporting.

That would be to use mp4. With mp4, it will direct play using the native apple player and then you get everything supported by the device. It's only with mkv that we use mpv for playback and then we're limited by what that currently supports.

That's not true. I did that and I have never been able to play a movie in one go, the playback always freezes. This has been going on for years. It was reported 4 years ago. vdatanet 1617 Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 The only way to decently play HDR content from Emby using Apple TV is to use Infuse. 1
vdatanet 1617 Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Fortunately we have Infuse as a workaround otherwise we would have to look for another media server. 1

Sorry but for me it seems ios ver 2.2.28 the greenish issues still exist... sometimes. However, it seems that dragging the progress bar left & right a few times can solve this problem. Could you please take a look into that?

HairyBizRat 21 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Found this thread because I’m having the same issue 4K DV content showing as greenish on iPad. i see lots of replies stating we will look into this but since it’s almost a year old , is there any realistic timeframe on a fix?

michaeltruncale 6 Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 Is there a setting that was introduced to fix this issue? This is on an iPad, if I swipe down with my finger and slowly swipe upward I can see the true colors, once I let go of the screen it gets the haze treatment again. Works fine on my iPhone 14 Pro Max however. This is why I’m asking if there’s a setting that’s affecting this? Also what is Infuse? Is that a plugin for Emby or iPhone, iPad, or?

Przemek 70 Posted April 26, 2025 Posted April 26, 2025 Hello, any fix for this because I try to change many options on Transcoding>Tone mapping but nothing helps. I have that problems on laptops, android box and android smartphone. Movie looks ok on LG tv. Many other 4k , Hevc, HDR movies looks ok but sometimes looks green. It's something with Emby settings, devices or file? Regards.
