Full screen startup and hold

Good day from too-hot-again Texas!

I've been having pretty good luck with flushing out what I need via the search here but I cannot for the life of me find any info on starting ET full screen.  I'm running Win11 and MS Edge as the browser.  Yes, I can hit the F11 to get it to go full screen, but It'd sure be nice if it just hopped into that upon boot and or startup.  I understand the Windows App is good, but it also leaves the top and sidebars up, which takes away from the clean look and defeats the purpose of a true full screen setup.  I know of kisok mode, but that locks some of the functionality of the PC I might want to use such as hopping out to search & stream in YouTube or something.

HI, so are you saying that you're trying to use the Emby web app? There is no way for the web app to automatically launch into full screen by itself. The browser has security/anti-spam measures that don't allow that. It can only go fullscreen after you click a button to do that.

You might be able to launch the browser using command line arguments though to start full screen.

Yup, Emby web app.  It's not a show stopper, but it'd sure be nice to have it 'forced' to be full screen whenever it starts.  Perhaps there's a way I can get MS Edge to do that?  I saw in some forums that there is a way of assigning Kiosk mode to a single app, but it looks like a helluva mess of work to set that up (windows settings+scripts).  Kinda disappointing that windows is so finicky on things like this, so I'd be curious as to if anyone else has overcome this issue even with another browser.  I'm not married to MS Edge and would be open to Chrome, Firefox, or whatever else would work.

Right it's something you'll have to handle, either in browser settings or the command line launching the browser because as I said, there's no way for the Emby app to automatically switch to full screen without you first clicking a button.

Please note our windows app will remember window size so it would work with that.

Not sure how to force the app to load since the web interface automatically loads.  In the meantime, the windows app still has a bar across the top of the screen, doesn't it?

Hi, what bar do you mean?

Sorry if I'm not clear, but I mean the bars across the top and side.  I can get the windows bar to hide, but I have no control over the app.  See what I mean in the screen cap where I've outlined he parts I'm looking hide.

You probably want to switch to TV display mode in the app settings if that’s your primary usage?

Nope.  I can get rid of that side bar but not the bar at the top.  Not sure what it's called..... title bar or something?

I don't understand....that's the browser-based app, isn't it?  Or are you talking about the Microsoft Store version?

This is getting pretty frustrating, gang.  How many 'versions' of controls do you have for Windows?  I now count 3:  Emby Theater via browser, the above link, and finally the Microsft Store.   So which one are you talking about?  See the screen shot below of what I have when ET starts, which is the browser-based version.

When I run the link you supply, it comes up fresh not recognizing anything I've already setup and starts asking me for a server.  It is run locally so why is it asking me for that when it's sitting on the same machine Emby server is running on?  I'm running DHCP so the IP is going to change so what's the purpose of entering anything?  I do NOT have an Emby connect account because I've no need to access the Emby remotely.  So...

1) How do I setup the desktop App as the default and NOT run the browser version (shown below)

2) How do I give it the location of the server on the local machine that runs both the server and ET?

3) How do I get it back to the browser version if the ET desktop app doesn't work correctly?

Please be specific on this.  I've been fiddling with this for a couple of days and I really need this to come to some sort of conclusion.

Currently we have two windows apps, one in the store and one that you can download. They are not the same, but we are working on unifying them.

The downloaded version does not have a title bar so I think you might like that better for your usage.

It usually can auto-detect the server, but if not, just enter localhost as the server address when going to through the initial connection process.

Thanks for clarifying this. Can I uninstall that one (windows store version) so as to avoid any confusion without affecting the desktop app?

FYI, entering 'localhost' as the server address doesn't work for me when loading the app.

My apologies if I came across as a jerk, but I'd been farting around with this for about 3 days off and on and getting down to my last few nerves!
