kizunarae 2 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Hello, is there an option to change the order shows appear in continue watching? I would like the most recently added items to show first in the list, like it does with Plex. I want to watch new episode releases from weekly shows before I continue watching shows that are already fully released. But I have to scroll to the end of the continue watching list to check if there are any there.

Luke 42079 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Hi, couldn’t you used the latest lists for that?
kizunarae 2 Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 (edited) The latest lists don't combine TV Show types (of which I have several), so I still have to scroll around to find all of the latest items. In Plex, it's just front and center. It especially doesn't make sense to me that not only will the latest episode not show up first, but it will sometimes show very last behind other shows that I haven't touched in weeks. Today I had two different shows with new episodes and one showed up before two shows I haven't touched in over a week and the other episode showed up after, so it seems inconsistent. The list is in the order of last played. So, if you are currently watching a set of shows, those shows are the first one shown.
kizunarae 2 Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 I know that is what it is supposed to do, but I was hoping that there was a toggle to change the behavior. It seems not, so perhaps I can put that in feature requests. But the second half of my comment is that it is not behaving that way consistently. Sometimes a show that I played more recently is showing up behind shows that I have not played in a while when it gets a new episode. I don't know what would cause it to behave that way.
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Today I added three new episodes. Two of them show up in Continue Watching in the expected places (i.e. behind the shows I have been watching during this week and not finished), but the third is not anywhere in the Continue Watching list, even though I watched the previous episode only last week (so it should be alongside the other two added today). In the attached log, the new episodes of "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Rurouni Kenshin" appear where expected, but "Sugar Apple Fairy Tale" doesn't though I believe it should be between them. pwhodges 2012 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Correct - I didn't. Nor did I move or rename it. Paul
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Yesterday I added the next episodes of the same three series. The same two appeared as expected in Continue Watching, and the other again failed to appear - so whatever reason Emby has to think I'm not watching this show is something persistent. Paul
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 The other situation I've had this week is that I watched three of the four specials for a show, not starting with the first, and each time the next was shown in CW, but after the last nothing was shown. It occurs to me to ask (as the situation has caused users to post here) whether there has been a change such that unwatched episodes before the last watched are no longer included in CW (this would not explain my previous instance, though. gleeballs 5 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 (edited) I have just come across this problem too and would like the ability to be able to change it. So currently I have a few series that I am in the middle of watching along with the family, so it is taking up the whole screen and scrolling off to the right. A new series has just been released for a show we want to watch but we would never have known about it as it adds it to the end (far right) of the continue watching list. If it was added to the front then it would be there for all to see straight away that the new series is ready to watch. Having an option to add newly released series to the front / top of the continue watching list would be great so we don't have to scroll to see if a new series is out etc Edited August 8, 2024 by gleeballs

It does yes, but that is dependant if you have that shown on the homepage and/or where it is on your homepage and/or how many things you have coming in as new all at once. I know it's a lot of ifs and buts as everyone has everything showing differently etc. not sure it warrants another section to view. It would be a nice QOL improvement and if it was toggleable that would be great for those that didn't like it. I know that I would prefer the new ones at the front as it will be an "a ha moment" and I would scroll to find what I was watching previously with no complaints. 1
gleeballs 5 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Any further thoughts on this by any chance? Another example - Slow Horses is new out, but I didn't notice as it was "behind" / to the far right, of all my other stuff that is queued up in Continue Watching. As soon as I start a new series, it gets "bumped up the watch queue" so to speak and is then positioned more to the left of continue watching
Luke 42079 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Hi, yes more options to control this are certainly possible for future updates. Thanks.
