Luke 42077 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Quote your responses seem to at least confirm that a TV show should display like a TV show, the same way across all like-typed libraries Mixed content is a little harder to detect because for some users it can be a free for all without conventions, but in your case, your directories look pretty straightforward so I'm not sure yet what's going on. That's why a test on a different server install might help to narrow down the source of the problem.
spearoid 4 Posted August 31, 2023 Author Posted August 31, 2023 new server, just copied a couple docuseries and a couple documentaries.....descriptions are being pulled 100% now...so I would say it's basically working how one would expect on the new server....which unfortunately puts another check in the Pro column for just rebuilding my Emby server from scratch......however, the single-season view of the episodes without having to open the Season 1 folder is not present....the image in my first post...but the docuseries is at least showing the description of the show and each episode has its description as well. Is that single-season, season1-bypassing view something that can be toggled on/off somewhere?
GrimReaper 4739 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Just now, spearoid said: Is that single-season, season1-bypassing view something that can be toggled on/off somewhere? Yes. 1
spearoid 4 Posted August 31, 2023 Author Posted August 31, 2023 ahh, so the reason I was seeing this in an inconsistent fashion on my live server was just because Emby wasn't even seeing the media as a TV show at all...thus the need to navigate through the Season 1 folder....if my live server does recognize it as a TV show, I get that feature
spearoid 4 Posted August 31, 2023 Author Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) so this test confirmed my metadata and file structure aren't the problems....but do we go any further from here or do I just need to buckle up and rebuild from scratch? I actually just did this in July, on a whole new server, but used the backup/restore feature to preserve all I could So if I were to do this again, I'm going to have to do it without a restoring anything....which...isn't the most exciting activity I can think of Edited August 31, 2023 by spearoid

Move your docus one level up, rescan. Edited August 31, 2023 by GrimReaper 2
ebr 16169 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Hi. I would also suggest to only use "Mixed Content" when you absolutely have to. If you only have TV or movies in a library, use those specific content types. 1

Move your docus one level up, rescan. yeah that's a good catch, but as I said in the OP, this issue is present in all my libraries, but one...it was never specific to the Documentaries library
spearoid 4 Posted August 31, 2023 Author Posted August 31, 2023 well I moved Documentaries out of that folder and recreated the library without any subset issues....and everything is good with that library now. This doesn't explain why the shows would show up as shows in that one library but not all my other mixed-content libraries, but the primary reason I was on this adventure in the first place was just for the Documentaries library, so I will consider this a win now and the matter mostly closed. Those other libraries shouldn't be mixed content in the first place, so I'm going to destroy and recreate them, and consider these issues a thing of the past, unless I see them again at some point. Thanks for all the help folks! 1
Luke 42077 Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Thanks for the update. I’d be curious to know how the 4.8 server handles this once that is released. Thanks.
spearoid 4 Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 So I deleted those mixed content libraries and created new ones as TV Shows, and I think all is well....I guess those libraries were corrupted/messed up somehow...they've existed for as long as I can remember, and have been restored through server rebuilds However, GrmReaper's screenshot showing how to toggle the 1-season display mode.....doesn't seem to exist for me....is there something I need to enable elsewhere to be able to see those options?
Luke 42077 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 That option is only in the 4.8 bets server. Thanks for the feedback.
