tOLJY 49 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I'm running emby server on an rpi4 and am aware is a low power low performance device. That being said, during a media scan, all of my clients (ccwgt) hang up during it. Is there any way to further any performance fixes? Maybe if there was a way for emby server to prioritise any incoming requests over its library scan?
Luke 42083 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 HI there, please attach the emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
tOLJY 49 Posted August 26, 2023 Author Posted August 26, 2023 Thanks I finished playing an episode and then my webhook triggered, which moves files to a 'watched' folder and then I trigger a library scan again via the api to pick up the moved file. User account is CHRISTOPHER and approximate time is 10AM embyserver-63828691200.txt
rbjtech 5284 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 May i ask why you moving the file to a watched folder ? The item will get tagged as watched (and by whom) anyway - so if you want to only see 'unwatched' items - then just set the client to select 'unwatched'. The log shows you are doing a full scan on every item ? Should you add/delete an item - it should get picked up automatically anyway - there is no need to run an API request. However, if you do need to do this (maybe you have turned off real-time monitoring for some reason) then you can specify the individual item, show or season to re-scan - you don't have to re-scan the entire library each time ..
tOLJY 49 Posted August 27, 2023 Author Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) I move items to watched or archive. I have a script which keeps stuff in watched for a few days before deleting, archive folder stays around so I can put into longer term storage. Currently yes doing a full scan. Would be great if I could do a partial scan of some kind. Real time monitoring does not seem to work on raspberry pi 4 with a exfat SSD attached. How would I specify a particular show/item etc? I know the new path of the file and all the associated metadata out of the webhook that got triggered to move the file in the first place. Edited August 27, 2023 by tOLJY
Luke 42083 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 You can scan individual folders in the web interface by right clicking and selecting scan library files.
tOLJY 49 Posted August 27, 2023 Author Posted August 27, 2023 This is currently automated for me so don't want to go back to manual. I did a search through the knowledge base and found a thread talking about library/media/updated where you nominate specific paths that have changed. So far this seems to work and does not take a whole heap of resources. 1 1
